Our Governing Board

Our Governing Board is comprised of staff, parents, members of our community and members of the Local Authority.
The Governors of Heathfield work with the leadership team to set the strategic direction for the school and make important decisions about how the school is run, covering matters such as appointing staff, setting the budget and planning for the use of buildings and resources.
Our subcommittees (Learning Challenge and Resources) meet once a term and also attend full Governing Board meetings once a term..
In addition to these meetings, individual link governors also meet with school leaders to examine the evidence being presented to the Governing Board. This includes examining pupil performance data, key policies, pupil workbooks, leaders' monitoring and minute of meetings. The link governors then report back in to the full meetings.
Each  November, our Governors spend a full day in school, conducting a learning walk, looking at pupil workbooks, meeting Parent Forum and speaking to staff and a variety of pupils. The varied work of the Governing Board ensures they have a clear an accurate picture of how the school is run in order that they can discharge their duties.
